Encaustic Painting : Personal Practice (2 Days) offers students a chance to deepen their understanding of encaustic technique in a supportive + challenging environment. This 2 day workshop includes demos, 1-on-1 guidance, self-directed studio time, as well as group critiques + discussions to help students gain confidence + competence within this medium. Possible areas of development: color mixing, layering + translucencies, paint application, working temperature + timing, creating optical depth, composition, working larger, oil pigment sticks.

It is a pre-requisite that participants have completed an introductory level class or have prior experience with encaustic painting and should have a basic mastery of painting + fusing encaustic paint.
